Dave Grohl has issued From Can To Can’t as the new single from the soundtrack to his film Sound City.
This hyperdramatic ditty features guest stars Corey Taylor (Slipknot/Stone Sour) on vocals, Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick on guitar and Pat Smear joining Grohl on drums.
The Sound City movie tells the story of the studio of the same name in Van Nuys, California. It’s where Nirvana recorded their iconic Nevermind album.

Well now they’re back. Actually, they’ve been back for a bit. Algy Ward is out, Doogie White is in – and Chris Dale, Bruce Dickinson/Atom Seed/Sack Trick bassist. Their last album was War Machine, their next is War Nation, out on June, 4th (Europe) / June, 5th (USA).

It Bites are to release a concept album next year.
To be called Map Of The Past, it’s currently being recorded at Outhouse Studios in Reading and will be on the Inside Out label. However, the band will be selling a limited edition double A sided single on their upcoming tour with Mostly Autumn. This is to have the songs Map Of The Past and Wallflower. It will be available on CD and as a seven incher.
David Lee Roth has posted a slightly cryptic message on his official website, fuelling speculation that Van Halen are ready to release a new single.

The band – also featuring guitarist Eddie Van Halen, bassist Wolfgang Van Halen and drummer Alex Van Halen – have been working on a new album with producer John Shanks since the start of the year. This is expected out during the autumn, and will be the first new studio album with Diamond Dave since 1984.
Girlschool have recorded a special version of their 1980 classic Emergency.
Titled Emergency Haiti 2010, it’s been done to raise money for victims of the Haitian earthquake. Joining the girls are Lemmy and Rudy Sarzo, plus 25 musicians from the Livewire youth music project based in Cornwall.
The single, dedicated to the memories Kelly Johnson and Ronnie James Dio, is available now.
Queens Of The Stone Age are to release a limited edition single.
This features the song How To Handle A Rope (A Lesson In Lariat), from the band’s self-titled 1998 debut album, and Avon. It will only be available on seven inch via mainman Josh Homme’s Rekords Rekords from February 28.
The band will be play a 20-city tour of America in the spring, playing the whole of the aforementioned album.
Details about the soundtrack for the Michael Jackson documentary This Is It have been revealed, and the biggest news is that the two-disc collection will feature two versions of a brand new Jackson song titled “This Is It.” The song, which will feature in the film’s closing credits, includes background vocals by Jackson’s brothers.
